A deeper look Into Our Materials:
From long-lasting jewelry supplies to zero plastic packaging, our materials are meticulously chosen, every step of the way.
Jewelry Materials
14k Gold Fill
14k gold fill is a high-quality material made by bonding a thick layer of solid 14k gold to a base metal core using heat and pressure. Unlike gold-plated jewelry, which has only a thin layer of gold that wears off quickly, gold fill contains 100x more real gold, making it far more durable and long-lasting. Because you will be replacing your pieces less often, gold filled is a more sustainable and eco-friendly choice for everyday jewelry. Additionally, our gold filled components are all manufactured in the USA.
925 Sterling Silver
925 sterling silver is a high-quality metal made from 92.5% pure silver blended with small amounts of other metals for added strength and durability. Unlike cheaper plated alternatives, sterling silver is solid throughout, so it doesn’t wear down to a base metal over time. Its long-lasting nature and recyclability make it a sustainable choice that can be polished, repaired, and worn for decades.
Stainless Steel
316L surgical stainless steel is a premium-quality metal known for its exceptional durability, resistance to tarnish, and hypoallergenic nature. Unlike cheaper metals that can rust, fade, or cause skin irritation, 316L maintains its shine and integrity even with daily wear. Its longevity and recyclability make it a more sustainable choice, reducing the need for frequent replacements and minimizing environmental impact.
White Gold Fill
White gold fill is made by bonding a thick layer of genuine white gold to a durable base metal using heat and pressure, creating a long-lasting and high-quality finish. Unlike cheaper plated jewelry, which can quickly wear away, white gold fill retains its color and shine for years of regular wear. Its durability and reduced need for replacement make it a more sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to disposable, short-lived pieces.
Packing Materials
Packing Peanuts
The peanuts we use are made out of cornstarch. Cornstarch packing peanuts are a more eco-friendly alternative to traditional Styrofoam ones because they’re made from renewable plant materials, dissolve completely in water, and break down naturally without leaving harmful microplastics behind. Our cornstarch packing peanuts are manufactured in the United States, where they’re produced from domestically grown corn and use less emissions to deliver to us in Minnesota.
Drawstring Pouches
We use muslin cotton drawstring bags instead of the traditional organza bags. These are a more eco-friendly alternative to organza bags because they’re made from natural, biodegradable fibers instead of synthetic materials derived from plastic. We use these drawstring pouches with the intention of reuse for jewelry storage, but if they are tossed out, they are biodegradable anyways.
Packaging Stickers
We use biodegradable stickers from the company NoIssue to decorate our packages. NoIssue stickers are a more eco-friendly choice because they’re made with compostable or recyclable materials and printed using soy-based inks, unlike traditional plastic-coated stickers that don’t break down. They’re manufactured in the US to reduce shipping impact and support local fulfillment.
Cards & Inserts
All our stationary is thin and minimal, with hole punching and corner cutting being done by hand, in-house. We put as little cards & inserts into the packaging as possible to reduce the amount of items tossed out.
